Boise State University

I became a research administrator in early March 2020 when I joined Boise State University 2 weeks before campus shut down for the pandemic. My original position was Administrative Assistant II, working with a unique research center on campus in many capacities including administration of grant funds and other funding sources, website content, HR, purchasing, and managing a fleet of field vehicles. Less than a year ago, it was recognized that most of my peers who were working on research administration had a higher-ranked position, so my position was reclassified as Management Assistant. It’s been a steep learning curve, but I am enjoying my work on research administration.
