I didn’t gain the title of Research Administrator until 2020. For obvious reasons this wasn’t the best time to start a new job. I believe we were on a partially remote schedule at the time. Fortunately, by the time I started I had some idea of what I was doing. This is because I started working in the Sponsored Projects Administration in 2018 as an accounting technician. I did all of the billing, invoicing, and receivables for our SPA depart and spent any free time assisting the Research Administrators and learning all that I could. When an RA position opened up in 2020 I was ready for the challenge. I have learned so much and continue to learn everyday.
