Became an RA: 2020 - Recent

I transitioned to research administration from working in a direct service role with high school students. I knew I was passionate about the field of education, but hadn’t found the right fit just yet.

Became an RA: The 2010's

I had just graduated from a master’s program with my degree in Library and Information science. While I was in graduate school, I had a part-time job working at a movie theater. One of the new employees I trained, worked at a research institute in finance, and let me know they were looking for a research administrator in their Research Institute that really could be molded to fit multiple different facets of the job. I fell in love with the job and stayed there for 10 years! When I moved on, I decided to stay in the field due to how much I enjoyed it and I continue to work as a research administrator to this day.

I came from Medicaid funded social services. I was really looking for something more black and white and less stress. In hindsight, I looked in the wrong place but regardless, I love what I do and happy I eventually found my way here.
