Jeanette F.

Manager of Administration

Became an RA: The 2010's

I worked for AT&T for almost 20 years and was declared Surplus. I could have taken a year off due to my severance package but I saw this job at Washington University and it was in Oncology. I had lost my first husband to Hodgkins Lymphoma in 1996 and greatly admired the Doctors and staff that I had worked with during my husband’s illness so I applied and I got the job. I started in purchasing and moved to post award Finance and now I am the manager of our purchasing team. Although I enjoyed my job with AT&T and was sad to lose that position there was truly something better instore for me with my move to research administrative work.
