Wendy H.

Associate Dean for Administration

Became an RA: The 1990's

I started out as a researcher, doing archaeology at the University of Illinois. I traveled a lot, made very little money, and discovered it was a world controlled by older white men. I decided that wasn’t the path for me, so using my research and limited management background, I found a job as a research coordinator in a campus Center. Four units and nearly 30 years later, I’m an Associate Dean, with research administration as about 50% of my job and School administration as the other 50%. It’s the position I was looking for, and will happily retire from!
