Streamlyne UP!, and the rooms we turn up in

Our users conference has run every year since at least 2017, alongside a virtual series between conferences and the research administration meetings where most of this community actually meets.

Upcoming

Nothing is confirmed here yet — check back.

We would rather leave this empty than list a date we cannot stand behind. When the next Streamlyne UP! and the conference schedule are set, they appear here first. Ask us if you want to know sooner, and if you are already a Streamlyne institution your account contact will hear before this page changes.

Streamlyne UP!

What the users conference is actually for

It is a working conference for people who use the system, not a sales event with a keynote. The recurring sessions have stayed recognisably the same for years, which is either a lack of imagination or the format working — the attendance suggests the second.

Roadmap, and the arguing that goes with it

Innovation and roadmap sessions where users influence what gets built next. This has been the spine of the conference since the first one — the 2017 programme in San Diego described it in exactly those terms.

Customers, talking without a vendor in the middle

Sessions run by institutions about what actually happened when they implemented, including the parts that were harder than expected. These are consistently the best-attended slots and we have never scripted them.

The Genius Session

Open developer Q&A. Bring the thing that has been annoying you for a year and ask the person who wrote it.

AI, at the level people actually need

The 2025 programme opened with an AI Beginner Workshop for Research Administrators — three hours, no prior knowledge assumed. It was the most requested session of that year.

FundFit and HERD Visualizer

Dedicated sessions on the funding discovery and benchmarking side, for institutions who came in through the eRA door and had not looked at the rest.

An industry session from a funder

Someone from the other side of the transaction, describing what they see in submissions. Worth the registration on its own.

A short history

Nine years of the same argument, in a good way

Streamlyne UP! started as an in-person users conference and became a virtual one, which turned out to matter more than we expected: a virtual conference is one a coordinator can attend without a travel request.

The one thing that has not changed is who does the talking. The sessions people remember are the ones where an institution describes an implementation honestly, including what went wrong.

  • 2017San Diego, CaliforniaThe first Streamlyne UP! we have a full programme for. In person, opening reception, customer sessions, roadmap, and a crash course in process modelling for research administration.
  • 2018 – 2022AnnualThe conference ran through the period that turned most of higher education's events virtual, and kept running.
  • The UP! SeriesVirtual, between conferencesShorter single-topic sessions so the community was not waiting a year — Quick Proposals, Reports and Dashboards, and Integrations among them.
  • 2024 – 2025VirtualFully virtual so that attendance was not a travel budget question. 2025 added the AI beginner workshop and a funder session.
  • March 2026NCURA FRA / PRA, San JuanNot our own event — we attended, took part in NCURA's AI workshop, and spent the week with the FRA and PRA communities.
