About this program
The California Department of Housing and Community Development offers $75 million through the 2023 Homekey Tribal NOFA to expand and preserve permanent affordable housing for households experiencing or at risk of homelessness, including multifamily rental construction, rehabilitation, manufactured housing, and conversion projects. Funding is available exclusively to eligible California Tribal Entities and may support projects statewide through June 30, 2025. Eligible applicants are Tribal governments or other qualifying Tribal Entities, which may apply jointly with Urban Indian Organizations, local jurisdictions, or private nonprofit or for-profit organizations. No matching funds are required, and applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
