2026 call for project proposals (HORIZON-JU-CBE-2026)

About this program

The Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) is launching the 2026 call for project proposals (HORIZON-JU-CBE-2026), open 23 April–22 September 2026 (17:00 CET) with a total budget of €170.7 million to fund IA‑flagship, IA, RIA and CSA projects under Horizon Europe rules. Topics cover biorefinery competitiveness, SSbD bio-based alternatives for fertilisers and personal care, diversification of nutritional ingredients, valorisation of residual biomass, bio‑based chemicals and high‑performance circular materials, with indicative topic budgets of ≈€20M for flagship IAs, ≈€14M for IAs, ≈€6.5M for RIAs and ≈€1.2M for the CSA. Applicants must follow Horizon Europe eligibility and submission rules (see the Annual Work Programme 2026 and the EU Funding & Tender Opportunities portal), submit required documents including Part B, IKAA annex and a business plan annex for IA‑Flagships, and may register for a professional pre‑check via NCP_WIDERA.NET; enquiries can be sent to info@cbe.europa.eu.
