2027 McKnight Composer Fellowships

About this program

American Composers Forum, with support from the McKnight Foundation, offers the 2027 McKnight Composer Fellowships to recognize and support outstanding mid-career Minnesota composers and culture bearers. Four fellows will receive $25,000 in unrestricted funds, along with up to $3,000 for professional development or works-in-progress, up to $1,500 in performance support, and consultation from ACF and Springboard for the Arts. Applicants must be Minnesota-based creative leaders beyond the emerging stage who demonstrate sustained experience, achievement, commitment, and high-level proficiency, with work that contributes to their field and benefits Minnesota communities; applications are due October 12, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. CT.
