2026 Pediatric Alopecia Areata Challenge Grant

The National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF), in collaboration with the Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance (PeDRA), offers the 2026 Pediatric Alopecia Areata Challenge Grant to support innovative one-year research projects addressing pediatric alopecia areata. Up to $75,000 will be awarded to one project, with priority given to studies on disease mechanisms, epidemiology, patient-reported outcomes, psychosocial burden, treatment, and decision-making tools. Investigators with innovative pediatric alopecia areata research ideas are eligible to apply, with preference for early- to mid-career principal investigators working with senior mentors and projects advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion. Applications are due September 17, 2026, with awards beginning as early as February 1, 2027.
