2026 Pediatric Alopecia Areata Challenge Grant

The National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF), in collaboration with the Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance (PeDRA), invites applications for the 2026 Pediatric Alopecia Areata Challenge Grant to support research that advances understanding, measurement, burden, or treatment of pediatric alopecia areata. Up to $75,000 is available for one-year projects (one award anticipated), with priority for studies on pathophysiology, epidemiology/natural history, patient-reported outcomes, psychosocial burden, and tools to aid treatment decisions. Investigators with innovative proposals are encouraged to apply; priority consideration will be given to early-to-mid career principal investigators working with senior mentors and to projects that promote equity, diversity, and inclusion. Applications are due September 17, 2026; awards will be announced by December 12, 2026, with an earliest start date of February 1, 2027.
