2026 Strategies Towards Improving the Treatment of Small Cell Lung Cancer

The Lung Cancer Research Foundation, with support from AstraZeneca, will provide at least one $500,000 award over three years for research developing strategies to improve treatment and outcomes for small cell lung cancer (SCLC). Proposals may address SCLC biology, biomarkers, screening and diagnostics, treatment resistance, immuno-oncology, or biospecimen-based translational research and must include studies involving SCLC patients. Applicants must be affiliated with a U.S.-based nonprofit academic or research institution, include a patient or patient advocate in research design, and may be at any career stage; current LCRF-funded investigators and applicants to other LCRF tracks in the same cycle are ineligible. Applications require a letter of intent due July 15, 2026, followed by an invited full proposal due October 5, 2026.
