2027-2028 Community-Academic Partnership Awards

About this program

The Institute of Translational Health Sciences (ITHS), supported through an NIH/National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences CTSA grant, offers Community–Academic Partnership Awards of up to $50,000 in total costs for one year. The awards support community-led or jointly led projects that address local health priorities by reducing barriers to clinical research or improving implementation of evidence-based interventions, with performance expected from April 2027 through February 2028.

Applications must include a genuine partnership between a community organization and an academic investigator, with community partners generally holding 501(c)(3) or similar status and academic partners based at an ITHS-affiliated institution in the WWAMI region. All principal and co-investigators must be ITHS members, the Contact PI must be academic faculty eligible to receive external research funding, and a letter of intent is due August 24, 2026, before invited full applications are due October 12, 2026.
