2027-2028 Interdisciplinary Solution Development Awards

About this program

The Institute of Translational Health Sciences (ITHS) offers Interdisciplinary Solution Development Awards of up to $25,000 in total costs for one year to adapt methods from fields outside health sciences into generalizable solutions that improve the efficiency, rigor, reach, or impact of clinical and translational research. Projects should establish a new collaboration between at least two researchers from distinct disciplines, including at least one investigator not typically engaged in clinical and translational research, and generate preliminary data for future external funding. Eligible applicants include ITHS members at ITHS Partner Institutions in the WWAMI region, the University of Washington, Fred Hutch, and Seattle Children’s; all principal and co-investigators must be ITHS members, and the Contact PI must be eligible for external research funding and be faculty at an academic institution. Letters of intent are due August 24, 2026, and invited full applications are due October 12, 2026, for projects expected to run April 2027 through February 2028.
