2027 Asian Pacific American Award for Literature

About this program

The Asian Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA) invites entries for its 2027 Asian Pacific American Award for Literature, recognizing outstanding works that reflect Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and/or Pasifika experiences and cultures. Winners receive an award seal, plaque, national publicity, and recognition at the 2027 American Library Association Annual Conference. Eligible works must be created by Asian American, Asian Canadian, and/or Pasifika authors or illustrators; titles highlighting underrepresented communities are especially encouraged. Self-published titles are not eligible, and all entries must be received by September 30, 2026.
