2027 Channing Briggs Small Research Grant

About this program

The NASPA Foundation offers the 2027 Channing Briggs Small Research Grant, providing up to $5,000 for research and innovation that advances knowledge, theory-to-practice applications, or professional practice in student affairs. Eligible applicants include graduate students, student affairs professionals, faculty members, and research teams, provided the applicant or at least one team member is a NASPA member; nominations are due October 20, 2026. Proposals must be no more than four narrative pages and describe the study’s purpose, relevance to student affairs and at least one NASPA guiding principle, methodology, significance, impact, and detailed budget. Funds support direct research costs only, must be used within 12 months, and recipients must disseminate findings through a NASPA conference or journal within 18 months.
