About this program
The National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) offers the John P. Hubbard Award to honor a lifetime of pioneering, broad-based, and sustainable achievement in medical education assessment. The 2027 award recognizes an individual with significant contributions to evaluation methods or measurement research, organizational quality improvement, and the education or mentorship of others in assessment. Nominees must demonstrate outstanding achievement in all eligibility areas; current NBME staff are ineligible, and NBME-related contributions made during employment are excluded. Nominations require a primary sponsor’s letter addressing the criteria and the nominee’s current CV, submitted in PDF format by September 25, 2026.
