2027 SAH Award for Film and Video

About this program

The Society of Architectural Historians (SAH) offers the annual SAH Award for Film and Video to recognize distinguished films or videos that advance understanding of the history of the built environment. The award is global and includes a certificate and citation, conference screening, public recognition, and archival placement of the winning work. Eligible entries must address an aspect of the built environment, demonstrate strong research or analysis and production quality, and have been initially released in 2023, 2024, or 2025 for the 2027 cycle; independent filmmakers, producers, distributors, and K–12 educational productions are welcome. Nominations must be submitted by a director, producer, or distributor by September 15, 2026, with a viewing copy or link and a 150–250-word narrative.
