AAAP-AADPRT Visiting Scholar Award in Addiction Education

About this program

The American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP) and the AADPRT Addictions Committee offer the AAAP-AADPRT Visiting Scholar Award in Addiction Education to help psychiatry residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship programs strengthen addiction education. One selected AADPRT member program receives year-long consultation from an addiction psychiatry and education expert, supported by a stipend from the AAAP Sheldon Miller Fund. Applicants must demonstrate clearly defined training needs, leadership commitment, motivation to improve the addiction curriculum, limited local resources, and attention to diversity, equity, and inclusion; prior awardees may not reapply for two years. Applications are due September 22 and must include the training director or lead faculty member’s CV and a Department Chair or designee’s letter of support.
