AACR-Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Research Challenge Grants

The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), in partnership with the Lobular Breast Cancer Alliance, is offering the Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Research Challenge Grants to fund paradigm‑shifting projects that advance detection, diagnosis, pathology, treatment, surveillance, or recurrence prevention in ILC; each award provides $50,000 for one year with a grant term starting January 1, 2027 and applications due September 10, 2026. Grant funds may be used for direct and indirect research expenses such as supplemental salary, equipment, supplies, and other project‑related costs. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) and be independent investigators at an academic, medical, or research institution by the grant start date, with any future position confirmed at submission and not contingent on receiving the award. Candidates may not be doctoral students, employees or subcontractors of U.S. federal government entities or for‑profit industry (they may serve only as unfunded collaborators), may not hold another overlapping AACR grant, and must be AACR Active members in good standing by the submission deadline.
