AAG Honors

About this program

The American Association of Geographers (AAG) offers annual Honors recognizing outstanding accomplishments in geographic research, teaching, education, disciplinary or public service, public and engaged scholarship, and lifetime achievement. Nominations for the 2027 awards are due September 30, 2026, by midnight Eastern Time. Nominees may be individuals or eligible groups, must be AAG members if residing in the United States, and must comply with the AAG Professional Conduct Policy; self-nominations are permitted. Dossiers must include the nominee’s CV and three to five letters documenting category-specific contributions and impact, including attention to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
