AAG Meridian Book Award for Outstanding Scholarly Work in Geography

The American Association of Geographers (AAG) offers the annual Meridian Book Award for a scholarly book making an unusually important contribution to advancing the science and art of geography; the winning author(s) receive $1,000, with possible recognition for an honorable mention. Eligible books must be written or co-authored by a geographer and published for the first time in English between October 2025 and September 2026. Nominations are due October 15, 2026, and require a two-page statement with author and nominator contact information plus four copies of the book; submissions must comply with AAG’s Professional Conduct Policy and may be entered for only one of AAG’s three book awards.
