AAG Publication Award

About this program

The American Association of Geographers (AAG) Publication Award recognizes publishers for exceptional contributions to geography through the publication and dissemination of outstanding scholarship. One award may be recommended annually by the AAG Honors Committee, although it is not necessarily conferred every year; nominations for the 2027 awards are due September 30, 2026, by midnight Eastern Time. Nominations may be submitted by AAG members, groups, departments, or other interested parties and must include a rationale letter, with up to five supporting letters or co-signatures permitted. Eligible recipients are publishers—not individual authors—and must comply with the AAG Professional Conduct Policy.
