AAG Research Grants

About this program

The American Association of Geographers (AAG), supported in part by several affiliated research funds, offers grants of up to $500 for direct research and fieldwork expenses. Funding may not be used for salary or overhead, and proposals should address questions of major disciplinary importance with potential to attract subsequent external support. Applicants must have been AAG members for at least two years, comply with the AAG Professional Conduct Policy, and may not request support for master’s or doctoral dissertation research. Applications are due November 15, 2026, by midnight Eastern Time.
