AAS/AASF Henri Ford Junior Faculty Research Award

About this program

The Association for Academic Surgery and Association for Academic Surgery Foundation offer one $50,000 Henri Ford Junior Faculty Research Award for surgical research, including clinical or basic science, ethics, education, epidemiology, biostatistics, and health care delivery. Funding supports direct project costs from July 1, 2027, through March 1, 2029; applications are due September 18, 2026. Applicants must be active AAS members, hold faculty appointments below associate professor, be within five years of practice after residency, and not hold an NIH R01, VA Merit Review Grant, or career development award. Funds may not support salary or indirect costs, and awardees must present their completed research at the 2029 Academic Surgical Congress and submit required progress and final reports.
