ACC/ABC Merck Research Fellowship Award

About this program

The American College of Cardiology and Association of Black Cardiologists, with support from Merck, offer three one-year fellowships of $100,000 each for full-time adult cardiology research from December 2026 through November 2027. Projects should address significant cardiovascular medicine priorities, with preference for general cardiology, heart failure, pulmonary arterial hypertension, cardiometabolic disorders, or cardiovascular care disparities, particularly patient-oriented clinical or outcomes research. Applicants must be enrolled in an ACGME- or AOA-recognized cardiovascular disease fellowship and have an experienced mentor plus institutional and program director support. Preference is given to candidates with no more than two years of prior full-time research experience; one award will be reserved for an Association of Black Cardiologists member, and applications are due September 14, 2026.
