Acellular Ex Vivo Lung Perfusion (EVLP) Research Grant

About this program

The International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) Foundation, supported by Lung Bioengineering, invites applications for a one-year Acellular Ex Vivo Lung Perfusion (EVLP) Research Grant to advance EVLP technology (e.g., perfusion optimization, repair/intervention strategies, immunomodulation, reconditioning, and outcomes research), with one award of up to $37,500 USD. Funding may cover salary support, study personnel, statistical support, supplies, animals, publication costs, travel for abstract presentation, and up to 10% institutional overhead; payments are made in installments and require a mid‑award progress report and a final report. Applicants must hold an academic or clinical appointment or be in training with either an accepted faculty position beginning by grant start or a departmental letter of commitment, and must be ISHLT members or have submitted a completed membership application by 30 September; employees of Lung Bioengineering are ineligible. Applicants with substantial relationships to Lung Bioengineering must disclose potential conflicts before applying, prior ISHLT or other funding is permitted, and research is expected to begin between January and June following the award.
