ACG Edgar Achkar Visiting Professorship Program

About this program

The American College of Gastroenterology Institute invites North American gastroenterology training programs to apply for the 2027 Edgar Achkar Visiting Professorship Program, which supports expert visits featuring educational presentations, mentoring, and engagement with fellows, faculty, and local GI practitioners. Applications are due August 19, 2026, and must include a letter to the ACG Institute Director describing the visit’s need and anticipated impact. Eligible programs must demonstrate an unmet educational need, identify at least three potential ACG-member speakers, propose activities and community outreach, and provide an advertising and recruitment plan; programs that have not previously hosted a visit will receive priority.
