AChemS 2027 Annual Meeting — Call for Symposia

About this program

The Association for Chemoreception Sciences (AChemS) invites proposals for 120-minute symposia at the 2027 Annual Meeting focused on bold, newly emerging areas of chemosensory research of broad interest; submissions are due 4 September 2026 and symposium chairs will be notified in October. Each proposal must designate a Chair (or co-Chairs) who is an AChemS member in good standing and include 4–5 confirmed invited speakers (talks generally 15–25 minutes) that must feature a new/emerging investigator (graduate student, postdoc, or early‑career faculty). Up to two first-time, non-member attendee speakers per symposium may receive funds to cover registration and up to $1,000 each for travel (maximum $2,000 per symposium); proposals must include title, chair(s), a one‑paragraph synopsis, confirmed speakers’ names/affiliations/tentative talk titles, and potential sponsors, and be submitted via the AChemS form. Proposals primarily showcasing the organizers’ labs will not be considered; selection prioritizes themes new to AChemS and balance across chemical senses, model organisms, and human studies, and questions can be directed to Program Chair Dr. Bradley Goldstein.
