AGA Pilot Research Award

About this program

The American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) Research Foundation offers five one-year Pilot Research Awards of $40,000 each to support new gastroenterology- or hepatology-related research directions and help investigators generate preliminary data for subsequent funding. Applicants must hold an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree, have a full-time faculty or equivalent position at an institution in the United States, Canada, or Mexico, and maintain AGA membership at submission. Early-career investigators must have a mentor, while established investigators must demonstrate how the project differs from prior work; applications are due September 15, 2026, with funding beginning April 1, 2027.
