AGRI Urban Agriculture Grant

About this program

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture’s AGRI Urban Agriculture Grant supports youth urban agriculture education and urban agriculture-based community and economic development projects, with awards of up to $75,000 for a project period of up to three years. Eligible activities may include community gardens, grower support, agricultural education, and related community programming, but not retail food business startups or projects benefiting only an individual household. Applicants may include nonprofits, municipalities, post-secondary institutions, Tribal communities, and collaborating organizations, provided projects are located in or serve cities with populations over 5,000 or federally recognized Tribal lands. Grants are reimbursed at 75% of documented eligible costs and require a 25% cash match; in-kind contributions and other state grant funds cannot be used as match.
