AIA Award for Outstanding Work in Digital Archaeology

The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) invites nominations for its Award for Outstanding Work in Digital Archaeology to honor projects, teams, or individuals that deploy digital technologies innovatively in excavation, research, teaching, publishing, or outreach; deadline September 15, 2026. Nominations may be made by anyone (including project directors) and collaborative projects are encouraged, but at least one member of the leadership team or any individual nominee must be an AIA member in good standing — include AIA membership number(s) with the submission. Required materials are the project name and a completed nomination form; the awards committee reserves the right to modify the award criteria or withhold the prize if no deserving nomination is received. The committee reviews nominations in October, the Governing Board must approve the selection, nominators are notified in November, and the winner is celebrated at the January awards ceremony.
