AIA Site Preservation Grant

About this program

The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA) offers Site Preservation Grants of up to $15,000 for projects that protect threatened archaeological sites and advance long-term preservation, including conservation planning, interventions, preventive measures, monitoring, training, and public education. Projects should demonstrate meaningful community engagement, outreach, sustainable maintenance, and collaboration with local authorities and personnel. Applicants should include appropriately qualified archaeologists, conservators, or other professionals and present innovative methods, best practices, and/or established site management or maintenance plans. Applications are due November 1, 2026, with decisions announced by March 1.
