AIA «Telestes» Award for Material Culture Research in Ancient Music and Dance

The Archaeological Institute of America’s «Telestes» Award recognizes innovative research using material culture and archaeological contexts to investigate ancient music and dance, including their social, cultural, ritual, and everyday functions. The award provides a €1,500 book voucher from Fabrizio Serra Editore and an annual subscription to *Telestes: An International Journal of Archaeomusicology and Archaeology of Sound*. Applicants must have defended a Ph.D. no more than two calendar years before the September 15, 2026 nomination deadline; research may address the Mediterranean or other world regions, with interdisciplinary approaches particularly encouraged. Nominations must include the completed form and a PDF of the dissertation, preferably in English, though several other languages are accepted.
