AIST Foundation Steel Intern Scholarships

About this program

The AIST Foundation, affiliated with the Association for Iron & Steel Technology, offers Steel Intern Scholarships for the 2027–2028 academic year to support students pursuing careers in the iron and steel industry through a qualifying summer internship and scholarship funding. Applications are accepted through October 5, 2026. Eligible applicants must be full-time sophomores or juniors, or seniors entering graduate school, in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, data science, environmental/sustainability science, or safety programs at accredited North American universities, with a minimum 2.5 GPA and at least one semester remaining after the internship. Applicants must be citizens of the United States, Canada, or Mexico, demonstrate strong interest in the steel industry, submit a resume, transcript, essay, and recommendation letter, and be willing to relocate for the internship.
