About this program
The Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE) offers the 2026–2027 Emerging Scholars Program to support doctoral students and early-career LIS educators as they develop teaching, research, service, and academic career skills through webinars and a conference workshop. The program includes sessions on research agendas, publication, teaching, artificial intelligence, and navigating academic careers; participation costs $60 for ALISE members or $145 for nonmembers, including one year of membership. Eligible applicants are current graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, or new library and information science professionals within three years of completing their degree. Applications are due September 1, 2026, and selected participants must attend the conference and webinars, complete program activities, and register by October 15, 2026.
