About this program

BrightFocus Foundation’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research program funds pioneering U.S. and international research aimed at understanding, preventing, and treating Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. FY27 offers Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards of $100,000 annually for two years and Standard Awards of $100,000 annually for up to three years to support innovative, high-risk, high-reward projects. Applicants may include postdoctoral researchers within five years of degree conferral and early-career investigators within 15 years; independent investigators are encouraged to propose cross-disciplinary work and generally should not hold an active R01 or equivalent for the same or closely related topic. Applications open June 1, 2026, and full proposals are due September 1, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. EST; no letter of intent is required.
