Alzheimer’s Disease Research Request for Proposals

About this program

BrightFocus Foundation’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research program funds pioneering U.S. domestic and international research to advance understanding, prevention, and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and strongly encourages applications from diverse and underrepresented researchers. Request for proposals opens June 1, 2026 and full proposals are due September 1, 2026 (5:00 p.m. EST); a Letter of Intent is not required. Two award types are offered: Postdoctoral Fellowships (within 5 years of degree conferral; $200,000 over 2 years) and Standard Awards for new/early investigators (typically within 12 years of degree conferral; $300,000 over 3 years) with an Early Career track extending to 15 years and an Independent Investigator track welcoming cross-disciplinary applicants. Applicants must serve as principal investigator, have institutional approval to manage the award, and should not hold an active R01 (or equivalent) for the same or closely related research.
