About this program
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) offers a $50,000, one-year fellowship to support women pursuing independent postdoctoral research in any field, with particular encouragement for STEM and gender-equity research. Applications are due September 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. ET, and funds may support research, publication, and living expenses. Applicants must identify as women, be U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents, and hold an eligible terminal degree completed on or after August 30, 2023, by May 30, 2027. Fellows must conduct full-time research at an eligible accredited institution, begin by September 2027, and submit recommendations, degree and transcript documentation, and a host-institution acknowledgment.
