American Short-Term Research Publication Grants

About this program

AAUW’s American Short-Term Research Publication Grants fund women researchers to prepare research manuscripts for publication, advancing gender equity and leadership in research and development. The grants are open to applicants in all fields—particularly those in STEM or studying gender issues—and are administered through AAUW’s long-standing American Fellowships program supporting graduate and postdoctoral women in the United States. Applications for the 2026 cycle open Aug 17, 2026 (9:00am ET) and close Sep 30, 2026 (5:00pm ET); awards are announced April 2027 with stipends disbursed July–Sept 2027 and Dec 2027/Jan 2028. Applicants must be women actively preparing a manuscript and must submit the required materials via the AAUW online portal by the deadline; review AAUW’s eligibility, disqualifying factors, and reporting policies before applying.
