About this program
The Metropolitan Museum of Art offers two Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Curatorial Fellowships for 2027–2029, providing two years of curatorial training, collection-based research, and exhibition or departmental project experience in Islamic Art or European Sculpture and Decorative Arts. Fellows receive a $66,300 annual salary, benefits, and a $6,000 reimbursable research-travel stipend. Applicants must hold a PhD by the deadline, have received it no more than five years earlier, and demonstrate relevant specialization and research, writing, and cataloguing experience; international applicants must have or obtain valid U.S. work authorization. Applications, including a statement of interest, CV, writing sample, and three recommendation letters, must be submitted online in English by October 15/16, 2026, at 5 p.m. ET.
