AOF International Medical Outreach Travel Grants

About this program

The American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) offers International Medical Outreach Travel Grants providing travel stipends (up to $1,500) to support osteopathic students and residents traveling to underserved, underdeveloped, or disaster-impacted international sites; the Rossnick Family Fund will award ~100 student grants and the DOCARE International Fund up to 10 student/resident grants (awards may be prorated based on days of direct clinical service). Applicants must be osteopathic medical students (Rossnick) or students/residents (DOCARE) in good standing with active AOA membership, be approved/selected for a qualifying trip overseen by an onsite DO, and submit a completed online application with a DO invitation letter on organizational letterhead, CV, and—for students—a COM/SOM letter confirming academic standing, trip approval, and lack of other funding. Grant conditions include prohibition on financial compensation for participation, requirement to obtain necessary licenses/permits and medical/evacuation insurance before travel, submission of a post-trip report and photos within 30 days, exclusion of State Department Level 4 destinations, and an application deadline of 2026-09-30.
