About this program

Arkansas INBRE’s Developmental Research Project Program (DRPP) Faculty Mentored Research Program for FY2027 funds biomedical research at Primarily Undergraduate Institutions (PUIs) through Pilot Projects (up to $50,000 direct for 12 months) and Research Projects (up to two years, up to $125,000 direct per year) to strengthen PUI research capacity and student involvement. Eligible applicants are full‑time, permanent PUI faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher (investigators at the Lead Institutions — University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and UAMS — are ineligible), and current DRPP Research Project awardees may not apply. Applicants must identify a research mentor from one of the two Arkansas INBRE Lead Institutions, include undergraduate student participation (PP minimum 1 student; RP minimum 2 students), and commit required effort (PP: 3 person‑months/25%; RP: 6 person‑months/50%). Applications, submitted by the institution’s signing official as a single PDF to INBREApplication@uams.edu, are due October 5 by 5:00 pm CT, and attendance at the AR INBRE grant‑writing workshop prior to submission is mandatory.
