ARRS Research Scholarship

About this program

The American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS), via The Roentgen Fund, offers the two‑year ARRS Research Scholarship—up to two awards annually—providing $180,000 to support early‑career faculty conducting radiologic sciences research with potential to change clinical practice. The award is intended to advance scholars’ research careers and leadership development and requires a minimum 20% time commitment and participation in ARRS career‑development activities. Applicants must be ARRS members with an MD/DO (or equivalent), have completed residency and fellowship, hold a full‑time faculty appointment in radiology, nuclear medicine, or an associated radiologic‑sciences department in the U.S. or Canada, be within five years of their first faculty appointment, and be eligible for board certification; applications require departmental nomination with a chair’s letter committing protected time and are due October 6, 2026. Candidates who have accepted certain prior awards (e.g., RSNA Research Scholar, AUR GERRAF, prior ARRS scholar/education awards) are ineligible; consult ARRS for full application materials and selection criteria.
