Artificial Intelligence in Communication Sciences and Disorders Research Grant

About this program

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation offers up to four Artificial Intelligence in Communication Sciences and Disorders Research Grants of $25,000–$50,000 for one- or two-year interdisciplinary studies applying AI ethically and clinically to audiology and speech-language pathology. Projects must address clinically relevant or translational priorities such as AI-driven assessment, personalized intervention, equitable access, predictive analytics, technology innovation, prevention, or ethical standards. Eligible teams must combine CSD and technical expertise, include an audiologist, speech-language pathologist, or speech-language-hearing scientist and student key personnel, and be led by a PI with a PhD or equivalent research doctorate in CSD or a related field. For the 2026 competition, prospective investigators must submit an intent-to-submit form by March 4; the next program offering is otherwise to be determined.
