Artist Residency Program – Houston Center for Contemporary Craft

About this program

Houston Center for Contemporary Craft offers juried artist residencies of three to twelve months for practitioners working in wood, glass, metal, fiber, or clay, including a specialized three-month Craft + Photography residency with Houston Center for Photography. Residents receive 24/7 access to a 200-square-foot studio, a $1,000 monthly stipend, professional development and teaching opportunities, and participation in artist talks and exhibitions. Applicants are evaluated on creative quality, public engagement, career direction, and program diversity, and must work in the studio at least two days weekly during public hours and provide an artist statement, resume, three references, and images of 10 works created within the past two years. Applications for the 2027–2028 cycle are accepted December 1, 2026, through February 1, 2027; international applicants must document U.S. work eligibility and provide an IRS tax-processing number.
