Artist Support Grants

About this program

The North Carolina Arts Council, administered regionally by the Durham Arts Council and partner arts organizations, offers Artist Support Grants of up to $1,500 for professional and artistic development during January–December 2027. Funds may support creation or presentation of new work, career promotion, training, travel, and related expenses, with up to 50% available for artist fees. Applicants must be at least 18, U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and have lived for at least one year in Durham, Orange, Alamance, or Person County; they may work in any artistic discipline but cannot be enrolled in a related degree program. Applications close August 31, 2026, and artists who previously received an award must wait two years before reapplying.
