About this program

The North Carolina Arts Council, through Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge and its Eastern North Carolina regional consortium, offers Artist Support Grants averaging $500–$1,000 to support professional and artistic development. Funds may be used for creating new work, equipment, professional development, travel to exhibitions or conferences, and promotional materials, with projects taking place January 1–December 31, 2027. Eligible applicants are emerging or established North Carolina artists who have lived in Edgecombe, Greene, Nash, Pitt, Wayne, or Wilson County for at least one year and work in visual, performing, literary, music, film, dance, or interdisciplinary arts. Applications must be submitted online by October 3, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.; prior awardees generally must wait two years before reapplying unless applying in another discipline.
