About this program
The Southwest Minnesota Arts Council (SMAC) offers Arts in the Schools Grants of up to $4,000 to support public-school arts projects, including artist residencies, arts field trips, and juried student art exhibitions. Funding supports projects conducted during FY 2027, from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. Eligible applicants are public schools in SMAC’s service area, and applications must be submitted by the first of each month from August 2026 through May 2027, or until funds are exhausted. Projects may begin no earlier than the first day of the month following board approval.
