About this program

The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) supports public programming that promotes Nordic culture in the United States and American culture in the Nordic countries, with grants of up to $5,000 (typically $1,000–$2,000) for defined events and presentations. Eligible projects must demonstrate lasting cultural benefit and complementary support from other sources; funding cannot be used for capital expenses, overhead, publications, commercial recordings, or retroactive costs. Applicants must be nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) or equivalent status and may submit one application per competition cycle. Proposals should include project details and materials, a budget, organizational and participant biographies, visa compliance information where applicable, and an audience and publicity plan; deadlines are September 15 and February 15.
